Budget
- Funding is tight in Sacramento and that filters down through all levels of government.
- Fortunately, Arcadia has been fiscally responsible and has set aside sufficient reserves.
- The Arcadia City Council passed a balanced budget last summer.
- Subsequent to that budget, we approved a very generous contract with all employees.
- We were forced to draw upon reserves to do so.
- Reserves are for emergencies and to operate responsibly we need to find the additional funds
in the general fund to pay our salaries. - Last December the council was made aware of unfunded liabilities for staff benefits; we need to
start setting resources aside to fund this debt.
Back to basics
- To retain and preserve our Great City we must increase our code and signage enforcement.
- I think our city codes do not provide for enough parking.
- Traffic is a regional as well as a local issue; we must continue to focus on finding solutions.
- We need to be careful about what projects we allow to be built in our great city.
